Zephon Puppies
The German
Spitz makes a great family pet or a one to one companion. They have very little
health problems therefore their life span is anything from 12 to 16 years of
age. Also they demand a lot of attention so a person who works full time and the
dog is left alone for the majority of the day is not really ideal. Puppies need
a lot of stimulation and loving care. Their active personalities need stimulation
if left to their own devices they can be mischievous and like any other breed
they can become destructive. This can be easily avoided with regular play time
and plenty of toys.
We look for
the most suitable homes and a contract is put in place upon purchase. If the
owner can no longer keep the puppy we bred we would have the puppy back and
seek a new safe secure home.
Puppies bred from this kennel are litter screened at 6 weeks for any eye problems. They are brought up in the home and are socialised with as many people as possible and other animals. We believe that socialisation and routine create the best well adjusted puppies full of confidence and character. The puppies come with KC registration, first vaccination, puppy pack, puppy contract, 6 weeks insurance, Micro chipped and life time support!
Temperament
German Spitz
are lively, bold and loving. They will demand to be part of the action within a
home. They are highly agile and love to stand on their back legs for attention
or treats. They show very little signs of aggression generally none and
thoroughly enjoy people and Animals Company. Always eager to please the breed
makes a brilliant companion for all ages.
Exercise and Grooming
They are excellent
watch dogs with acute hearing and watchful over their home and family. Although
this means they are likely to bark quite a bit therefore training here is
needed. Training is easy with the German
Spitz as food and attention is their best friend.
The German
Spitz requires little exercise and is happy with a small garden. They enjoy
walks of any length but will just as happily enjoy a warm lap to curl upon.
Regular
brushing once a week to prevent the coat from matting is needed. Brushing is
done in an upward motion from the base of the tail up toward the neck. The coat
at the back of the dog should be brushed away from the body and the tail
brushed upward over the back. Trimming
of the fur on the underside of the paws and on the hocks (back legs) is done
when the fur is long and by trimming this it gives more comfort to the dog and
overall tidiness in appearance.
Intelligence
The German Spitz are extremely intelligent but they can be headstrong at times so training that rewards for good behaviour will be highly effective. The breed has been known to take part in agility and obedience classes as they are particularly good at this.
